How Laser Therapy Works

We utilize Theralase lasers, which are nonthermal. There is no heating element, which means no pain for you. The laser delivers energy deeply into the tissues that are being addressed, stimulating the cells of the body. It’s far below the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) tolerance level, making it safe to apply.

Theralase lasers work on a cellular level in three different ways;

  1. The acceleration of healing. ATP is the energy unit of the cell. To heal, your injured cells require energy. The mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell, is stimulated by the laser, producing more ATP to accelerate tissue repair.
  2. The reduction of inflammation. Your body produces nitric oxide, which decreases inflammation. The laser increases this production, which will relax blood vessels and allow oxygen and nutrients to reach the tissues, decreasing inflammation and allowing healing.
  3. The elimination of pain. The laser helps your cell membranes absorb sodium and expel potassium, which removes the pain signal right at the source.
